“Proven project manager and community development coordinator to assist with BTI rapid expansion”
In response to growing enrollment and demand for regional workforce training courses, Baker Technical Institute (BTI) has hired Tammy Pierce as a Program Coordinator. Pierce’s responsibilities will include program coordination, grant writing, and business development to help further support BTI’s mission to offer the region’s most innovative career and technical education programs.
In her new role, Pierce will work with business partners to assess workforce training needs, establish courses to meet those needs, and assist with the overall growth and expansion of current programs.
Pierce joins Baker Technical Institute with 20 years of progressive public sector experience, and most recently was Community Development Coordinator in Baker, Union and Wallowa Counties for the Oregon Department of Human Services.
“Tammy has a proven track record of highly successful coalition building, project management, and partnership development,” said Doug Dalton, BTI President. “As we push forward to offer next-generation programs that serve the needs of Eastern Oregon learners and employers, Tammy will be instrumental in helping to foster partnerships that result in increased workforce skill sets, growing businesses, and ultimately thriving rural communities.”
“I am very excited to be joining such a dynamic organization during this time of growth,” says Pierce. “My family has always been involved in the communities of Eastern Oregon, and I see BTI as a wonderful opportunity to improve the economic conditions of the region through education and training, that will only improve the rural lifestyle we all love so much.”
