Women’s Heavy Equipment Operators School

Intro to Heavy Equipment

Introduction to Heavy Equipment Operation.

Dig in and gain traction toward a career in a growing industry now!

Come learn the trade of heavy equipment operation with the proven, effective, training method of combining high-tech CAT Simulators with time on real equipment in the field. BTI’s industry-trained instructors have decades of experience in operating heavy equipment and can guide students through the course and share their years of experience.

This course is for individuals who are looking for the perfect opportunity to learn the basics of Heavy Equipment Operation and determine if furthering your education with the comprehensive course is something you would like to do.  We utilize state-of-the-art CAT Simulators combined with seat time on real equipment to give cutting edge education. Simulators allow new operators to train on machine operation, gain application knowledge, and develop skills in a controlled and safe environment; while allowing experienced operators to refine skills, break bad habits, and address progress through the virtual training exercises. Hours on real equipment will be at BTI’s land lab or at job sites working side by side with our instructors, refining what was learned on the simulators.

If you chose to pursue your training at a more extensive level and enroll in our Fall Comprehensive Course, the cost of this course will be deducted from the tuition of the comprehensive course.

Dates: July 13, and July 16-21, 2018

Cost: $690

Location: Eastern Oregon University (in the BTI Mobile Equipment Classroom).  Saturday, July 21st will take place in Baker City at the BTI Construction Land Lab.

Welding Course for Ag Teachers

BTI is offering a 4-day summer welding course for Ag teachers that’s designed for all levels of welders, from
beginner to advanced. The class will focus on the Gas Tungsten Arc Welding “TIG” and Gas Metal Arc Welding
“MIG” processes. Class time will include training on specialty metals such as aluminum and stainless steel,
equipment set up, maintenance and troubleshooting as well as how to teach students to cut, prep and layout
materials for plate tests.

Date: June 25-28 8:00-4:00
Cost: $450 Includes Lunch
Location: Baker Technical Institute

Wilderness First Responder Course

Intensive 5 day Wilderness First Responder Course- The ultimate wilderness course in medical training, leadership, and critical thinking for outdoor, low-resource, and remote professionals and leaders.

The Wilderness First Responder Course is ideal for individuals who spend time in the outdoors. The comprehensive and practical curriculum includes the essential principles and skills required to assess and manage medical problems in isolated and extreme environments. Also covered in the class is back country medicine including the assessment and treatment of common medical problems, wound management, environmental medicine, patient assessment and emergency care.

Nursing Assistant Training-Baker City Location


BTI’s Nursing Assistant Certification Training is a State Approved Program that provides students with the necessary training to be prepared for the CNA test. Our instructors are RN’s with experience in the field and teaching the nursing assistant training.

Certified Nursing Assistant 2 Course

The BTI CNA Level 2 Training Program is for the current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), who assists licensed nursing personnel in the provision of nursing care. This is an 88-hour course fulfilling the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) requirements for CNA 2 training. The course consists of discussion and skills lab with a minimum of 60 hours, and hands-on clinical experience with a minimum of 28 hours.

BTI Welding Courses

OPEN ENROLLMENT for BTI Comprehensive Welding Classes is now available

BTI’s Welding Technology program provides training in SMAW (shielded metal arc welding), GTAW (gas tungsten arc welding), PAC (plasma-arc cutting), GMAW (gas metal arc welding), FCAW (flux-cored arc welding), OAW (oxyacetylene welding), OAC (oxyacetylene cutting). Courses include safety, welding symbols, blueprint reading and fabrication skills. D1.1 Structural Code.

We are pleased to welcome Ryan Butler, a multi-certified professional welder with over 30 years of experience in the industry along with welding instructor experience.

Certification Preparation available for all procedures based on skill level as determined by instructor.

Heavy Equipment Operator Training. Effective. Efficient. Easy.

The new BTI Heavy Equipment Operator School is open and enrolling students for January 2018.

This course is for beginner or experienced operators who want to train on Graders, Dozers, Excavators, and Wheel Loaders.  Simulators allow new operators to train on machine operation, gain application knowledge, and develop skills in a controlled and safe environment; while allowing experienced operators to refine skills, break bad habits, and address progress through the CAT Simulators.

Operators who pre-train on CAT Simulators retain more information during training, perform more efficiently on the actual machines, and become safer, more productive and qualified operators.

Course Information

Wilderness Advanced First Aid class is a comprehensive medical training designed for remote professionals or wilderness leaders who venture into remote and challenging environments.  This course teaches how to manage medical emergencies when hospitals and rescue services may not be available for an extensive time period.  We prepare students for emergency situations that involve prolonged patient care, severe environments, and improvised equipment.  The learning environment is challenging, stimulating, and fun.

Certifications

This course is scheduled for 4-days or 36 to 40 hours of instructional and practice time. Upon successful completion students will receive certification in Wilderness Advanced First Aid and Adult CPR. Certification is valid for three years.

This course is certified through Wilderness Medical Associates.
