Course Description

Traffic control demands attention, concentration, and significant skills training, as flaggers make decisions on behalf of drivers, workers and the public.  Professional training is key.  Our course  consists of classroom and practical training and will prepare learners for traffic control/flagger opportunities.

This course discusses the hazards associated with work zone hazards and important ways to protect yourself, your co-workers, pedestrians, and motorists in a road construction zone from injuries as a result of work zone accidents.

The training covers regulatory requirements for work zone safety, requirements for the set up of equipment, safety best practices, required PPE, and the importance of lines of communication.

This course includes an exam to be certified by the Oregon DOT, and has been adapted to cover utility-specific situations.
