In an effort to assist industry in Eastern Oregon to fill much needed open positions for electricians, Baker Technical Institute (BTI) is launching a journeyman plant electrician apprenticeship program.

Oregon Governor Kate Brown toured BTI on April 28, 2018 as part of her “Future Ready Oregon” campaign to address the gap between the skills Oregon’s workers have and the skills that our growing businesses need.

On May 1, 2018, Senator Ron Wyden opened a town hall meeting at Baker High School by presenting BTI with an American Flag that has flown over the U.S. Capital in Washington, D.C.
